01.
WHO IS AN ENDOCRINOLOGIST?
An Endocrinologist is a doctor who has been through Medical school, followed by 3 years of Internal Medicine training and then 2 years of Endocrinology training.
02.
ARE SAME-DAY, NEXT-DAY, AND LUNCH-HOUR APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE?
Yes, we do offer these appointments in most cases! We are here to work with you, so you can get the best possible care.
03.
WILL MY VISIT INCLUDE PRESCRIPTIONS FOR MEDICATIONS?
Dr. Lalani believes in using lifestyle remedies, herbal remedies, and prescription medications to help restore your body’s hormone milieu. So, prescription medications will be ordered at your visit, as necessary.
04.
CAN I USE MY INSURANCE TO PAY FOR PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS, LABS, AND IMAGING?
Yes, here at Bluebonnet Diabetes & Endocrinology, our goal is to help you to take charge of your health! We encourage you to know about your insurance plan, so you can use the pharmacy, diagnostic, and imaging facility that is in-network with your insurance. However, we do provide an array of deeply discounted labs and imaging, that you can use as well (without insurance).
05.
WILL I CONTINUE TO NEED A PRIMARY CARE DOCTOR? DO YOU COMMUNICATE WITH THEM?
We do encourage you to maintain a relationship with your primary care provider. Dr. Lalani will be taking care of your Endocrine problems and accompanying medical issues, like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc. but she does not practice as a primary care doctor.
We do communicate with your PCP to keep them in the loop about your health, however, we can avoid this if you choose to do so.
06.
HOW IS BLUEBONNET DIABETES & ENDOCRINOLOGY DIFFERENT FROM TRADITIONAL ENDOCRINOLOGY PRACTICES?
You will notice this right away! Your appointments will no longer feel like a long wait time in the lobby, followed by a quick check-in by your doctor, refills, bye-bye, and then surprise bills in the mail. We value the physician-patient relationship and consider it of utmost importance for successful treatment. We take ample time to discuss all of your concerns so that you do not leave the appointment with questions and dissatisfaction with the visit. In case after-visit questions were to arise, we try to address these as soon as possible and not keep you waiting.
07.
How long does the membership last, after I enroll?
Membership requires 6 months commitment and month-to-month payments. We do require you to give us a 30-day notice if you plan to cancel your membership.
08.
Do you prescribe controlled substances?
We do not prescribe controlled substances except testosterone replacement.
09.
Can I use my HSA/FSA money to make payments?
In most cases, our services do qualify to use HAS/FSA. However, we do ask you to check with your HAS/FSA carrier to confirm this.
10.
What is the difference between a direct care practice and a concierge practice?
Direct care practices and concierge practices, both charge monthly membership fees. However, concierge practices tend to charge a significant fee for “convenience” while still billing insurance for the medical care, in most cases. The direct care model is designed to make medical care more affordable and accessible while bypassing insurance and as the doctor will have a much smaller patient panel, you will receive more personalized care.

Do you provide discounted labs?
